Emergency 911 services for the Caribbean Islands are offered as part of your NetSpeak plan. The 911 services will not work properly if you move the equipment to a different location from your registered location. It is strongly recommended that you always maintain an alternative means of reaching a 911 operator in case of an emergency.

NetSpeak offers 911 Dialing to all our customers. When you dial 911, your call is routed from the NetSpeak network to your local Emergency Center. There are several important differences between our Emergency Services dialing and traditional 911 Dialing. Please note the key differences and take the necessary precautions:

. NetSpeak 911 service provides the local Emergency Center of your island with your NetSpeak telephone number and the address provided during registration.
. NetSpeak service enables you to roam to any broadband connection.  However, if 911 is dialed while away from your registered location, the local Emergency Center will receive the location provided during registration or last update.
. If you roam outside of your Caribbean island and dial 911, the Emergency Center will not be able to dispatch the proper authorities.
. NetSpeak service does not provide lifeline services.

Cable and Wireless recommends that you maintain your home telephone service with a non-electrical telephone (no cordless phones) to insure emergency service and other lifeline services operate during periods of power interruption.

Remember that unlike traditional phone lines, NetSpeak service is portable to any location with broadband Internet access, which enables one to maintain your calling plans and features from any location.  However, your 911 Dialing will automatically route your call with the address stored on file, not your temporary location where one can make calls.

911 and NetSpeak Service DO NOT function during an electrical power or broadband provider outage.
